Historical Gypsy Moth Data

Data were collected as a part of several pest management programs including the US Forest Service Appalachian Integrated Pest Management (1988-1992), and the US Forest Service Slow the Spread (STS) (1993-present) projects. The database consists of georeferenced data on male moth counts of the gypsy moth (1980-1998), Lymantria dispar L. (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae), and egg mass sampling (1988-1991).

The STS Decision-Support System can be used to analyze data on male moth counts (from 1996). Results of the analysis can be used to monitor the progression of the population front and to suggest areas for placing delimiting grids of traps and for treatment.
